Exchange of Researchers

Exchange of researchers between different groups within the COST action is possible through so-called short-term scientific missions (STSMs).

The application procedure is described in detail in the COST Vademecum (Part B) which can be downloaded from the COST website at: http://www.cost.esf.org/participate/guidelines

In brief, the procedure consists of the following steps:

  1. The Applicant must use the on-line registration tool to register their request for an STSM (see https://e-services.cost.eu/stsm).
  2. After entering the required information the on-line registration tool will issue a formal STSM application, which has to be downloaded and sent by the applicant electronically (by e-mail as attachment) together with any necessary document supporting the application (CV, full workplan, list of publications, motivation letter, letter of support from the home institute etc.) to:
    the future Host institution of the STSM;
    the STSM coordinator (Christoph Flamm; xtof@tbi.univie.ac.at, with copy to s.otto@rug.nl AND costCM0703@rug.nl).
  3. The STSM coordinator will email his conclusions to the grant holder (i.e. s.otto@rug.nl AND costCM0703@rug.nl)
  4. Upon approval the grant holder will issue the grant letter.
  5. The applicant has to return this Grant letter, after accepting the grant with his/her signature.
  6. After the STSM the applicant has to send a report to the STSM coordinator.
  7. The STSM coordinator will email his conclusions to the grant holder who, upon approval, will pay the reimbursement.
